Naples is the third largest municipality in Italy after Rome and Milan.
The Metropolitan City of Naples has about 3.000.000 inhabitants and is one of the largest cities on the Mediterranean Sea.

The historic centre of Naples is the largest in Europe; it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In close proximity to Naples there are several significant cultural and historical sites, including the Royal Palace of Caserta and the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
